LA-OC-IE ARMS EMBARGO: GKN OUT OF GARDEN GROVE is a grassroots campaign led by a coalition of local organizations demanding that GKN no longer be permitted to operate or expand in the city of Garden Grove, California.
GKN Garden Grove has accumulated profit at the expense of the safety of its workers, the health of the surrounding community, and the lives of the people - from Garden Grove to Gaza.
GKN Aerospace is a Lockheed Martin subcontractor made infamous by the ongoing chemical crisis at their Garden Grove, CA manufacturing facility, in which a faulty tank threatened to either explode or spill 7,000 gallons of methyl methacrylate (MMA). Both outcomes would have spread toxic chemicals over a wide area, thus endangering tens of thousands of Orange County residents.
Our research has exposed GKN Aerospace’s role in supplying components for military aircraft destined for Israel, including transparency canopies for F-35 fighter jets. Further, the chemical at the center of this disaster, MMA, is a hazardous plastic precursor chemical that is used in a range of industrial applications, including the production of transparent acrylic materials required for manufacturing F-35 transparency canopies.
The briefing also links GKN's production for Israel to its ongoing expansion of its Garden Grove facility, at the expense of public safety.
The chemical crisis threatening our Orange County community, at present and in the future, is inextricable from GKN's obligation to the Israeli military.
Working-class immigrant and refugee communities should never be forced to live next to hazardous chemical and military manufacturing facilities. LA-OC-IE ARMS EMBARGO: GKN OUT OF GARDEN GROVE says NO the use of public infrastructure, land, and funds for the manufacturing or transportation of military cargo to Israel.

REJECT GKN’S EXPANSION: The City of Garden Grove must deny any permits related to GKN Aerospace’s ongoing facility expansion in Garden Grove.
SHUT DOWN GKN: The crisis surrounding the chemical tank malfunction has exposed GKN Aerospace’s numerous failures of responsibility over the last decade, including serious environmental violations and complicity in Israel's genocide. The company continues to pose a threat to our community and must be permanently shut down.
ARMS EMBARGO! MORATORIUM NOW:The City of Garden Grove must adopt an immediate moratorium on existing, expanding, and new military manufacturing facilities and review their environmental and labor regulatory compliance. These facilities have proven to be categorically hazardous and prone to violating environmental regulations, labor standards, and international humanitarian law.
