BRITAIN ARMS

EMBARGO

On May 7, 2025, the PYM alongside Workers for a Free Palestine and Progressive International released a research report that exposed the extent of UK arms exports to Israel. This report revealed that the UK has sent thousands of military goods since October 2023, including over 8,000 separate munitions since the government’s partial suspension of export licenses in September 2024. This evidence reveals that the UK Foreign secretary David Lammy has misled Parliament and the public about arms shipments to Israel. David Lammy, business and trade secretary Jonathan Reynolds, and other Ministers have repeatedly claimed that the government has ended direct exports of F-35 jets to Israel, however the evidence in this report suggests that direct shipments of F-35 components from the UK to Israel have been ongoing.

Following the report’s launch, hundreds of people mobilized outside the Foreign Office, culminating in a Britain wide day of action where over 17 locations across Britain took action outside Labor offices. Over 40 MPs called on David Lammy to explain the report findings, resulting in a Parliamentary debate and an early day motion supported by 46 MPs.

The culmination of this research led to the launch of a campaign targeting Ealing Council. Over £112 million of public money is invested in arms and logistics firms, like Maersk, Elbit and Leonardo, complicit in the slaughter of Palestinians. While Gaza burns, Ealing Council stays silent, choosing profits over people, complicity over conscience. The people’s demands are simple: Ealing Council must divest its pension fund from Maersk and all companies complicit in enabling the genocide on Gaza.
